Mike Oldfield is a British multi-instrumentalist musician and composer, working a style that blends progressive rock, folk, ethnic or world music, classical music, electronic music, New Age and more recently dance. He is best known for his instrumental work Tubular Bells (1973)
During the 80's, Oldfield released mainly pop music, as opposed to instrumental works in the decades before and after. The most known song from this era is Moonlight Shadow, with Maggie Reilly on vocals.
