Amy Jade Winehouse (14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011, born as daughter of jazz musician Mitchell Winehouse) was an English singer and songwriter, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including soul, jazz, rock & roll and R&B. Winehouse was best known for her soulful, powerful contralto vocals.
