The Postal Service is named after the way the band traded sounds and ideas. They are an electronica/indie rock group consisting of Jimmy Tamborello, Ben Gibbard, Jenny Lewis, and Jen Wood. The band contributed via postal mail; Tamborello would compose and send electronic pieces, while Gibbard would add in guitars, vocals, and lyrics.
