From Lyriki
The Darkness are an
English rock band touting themselves as classic hard rock. Their highly retro style of music seems to be influenced by 1970s rock bands like
Queen,
AC/DC,
Aerosmith,
Judas Priest,
Thin Lizzy,
Cheap Trick,
T. Rex, and
Led Zeppelin, and 1980s rock bands such as
Van Halen and
Def Leppard. However, they are possibly the closest band to come to
Queen's style since Freddie Mercury passed away, although this could be disputed by
Queen fans. Lead singer Justin Hawkins' falsetto makes them immediately distinguishable from other present-day rock bands.
